Way out for the World

 

According to the Changing World Movement, it was a tragic omission on the part of the world that it did not find a way out of the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict in the first days.

There can be no doubt that this historical omission is now condemning two brotherly nations to a long war, and almost the entire world to severe crises and terror.

   Meanwhile, everything is happening, but no one is looking for a way out. On the contrary, the most important actors are deepening the conflict at the local and global level, provoking and blackmailing each other, criminally risking a real nuclear world war. And meanwhile, the enemy camps are intensifying the manipulation of people, the hatred that poisons everything.

   You can expect a miracle, such as a "regime change" on one or the other side, which could solve the local conflict, but not the global one, the transition from a unipolar world to a multipolar one. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to open a new world congress, similar to the Congress of Vienna in 1814 and the Dumbarton Oaks conference in 1944, with similar goals: to reform the UN, to ban nuclear weapons, and in the long run to pave the way for the establishment of a world government.

   This will be a huge and difficult task, which can certainly only be completed in several rounds. The responsible thinkers and scientists are responsible for the intellectual preparation of this historic enterprise. All of this would understandably require and facilitate the conclusion of the Ukrainian conflict.

Unarmed islands

 

Realistically assessing the current state of human civilization, it can be said that the unarmed world is still a long way off. Shameful, tragic state.

At the same time, an unarmed world could appear on Earth even tomorrow.

A treaty (World Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Weapons, NPT) could be developed that could allow several countries to eliminate weapons in state life. And this can be reasonably complemented by a complex and dynamic development program.

The essence of the treaty is that the participating unarmed countries renounce their army, the participating guaranteeing countries undertake to protect the peace and territorial integrity of the unarmed countries by all means. It is clear that a viable solution requires a minimum number of countries in both categories, and it would certainly be important for at least two of the guaranteeing countries to be members of the UN Security Council.

The Changing World Movement has a number of important details to suggest, but does not want to keep the project to itself. It would be right for UN experts and international organizations with a great intellectual and material background.

Let the islands of the unarmed world appear on our threatened and suffering Earth as soon as possible and in greater numbers.
