Call to the IT world

Giants of IT and communication!

1. Provide internet for earthquake affected areas!

2. Provide smartphones for people without cover, documents, money and everything, which can serve as both a temporary document and a wallet!

3. Provide softwares and services that can help people separated from each other to find their relatives and friends and to get through the difficult period after the disaster more easily!

Way out for the World

According to the Changing World Movement, it was a tragic omission on the part of the world that it did not find a way out of the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict in the first days.

There can be no doubt that this historical omission is now condemning two brotherly nations to a long war, and almost the entire world to severe crises and terror.

Meanwhile, everything is happening, but no one is looking for a way out. On the contrary, the most important actors are deepening the conflict at the local and global level, provoking and blackmailing each other, criminally risking a real nuclear world war. And meanwhile, the enemy camps are intensifying the manipulation of people, the hatred that poisons everything.

You can expect a miracle, such as a "regime change" on one or the other side, which could solve the local conflict, but not the global one, the transition from a unipolar world to a multipolar one. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to open a new world congress, similar to the Congress of Vienna in 1814 and the Dumbarton Oaks conference in 1944, with similar goals: to reform the UN, to ban nuclear weapons, and in the long run to pave the way for the establishment of a world government.

This will be a huge and difficult task, which can certainly only be completed in several rounds. The responsible thinkers and scientists are responsible for the intellectual preparation of this historic enterprise. All of this would understandably require and facilitate the conclusion of the Ukrainian conflict.

Unarmed islands

Realistically assessing the current state of human civilization, it can be said that the unarmed world is still a long way off. Shameful, tragic state.

At the same time, an unarmed world could appear on Earth even tomorrow.

A treaty (World Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Weapons, NPT) could be developed that could allow several countries to eliminate weapons in state life. And this can be reasonably complemented by a complex and dynamic development program.

The essence of the treaty is that the participating unarmed countries renounce their army, the participating guaranteeing countries undertake to protect the peace and territorial integrity of the unarmed countries by all means. It is clear that a viable solution requires a minimum number of countries in both categories, and it would certainly be important for at least two of the guaranteeing countries to be members of the UN Security Council.

The Changing World Movement has a number of important details to suggest, but does not want to keep the project to itself. It would be right for UN experts and international organizations with a great intellectual and material background.

Let the islands of the unarmed world appear on our threatened and suffering Earth as soon as possible and in greater numbers.

Take care!

One good friend who saw the picture below responded in agreement: "yes, the crisis that is now unfolding is likely to be similarly severe and will last for a similarly long time."
It is not a good prospect, but the real big threat is other. It is not the length of the crisis, but what it can lead to. In this respect, 1933 is not primarily interesting as a number to signal the end of the crisis at the time.
1933 is a scary number, not least because something terrible began then, but because it warns: humanity is not learning from history.
Do not justify yourself with humanity. If you have learned the lesson, do not stay idle! We need the power and the program that can block the return to 1933. Tthis power and program need you. If you really learned your lesson.

A commemorative day for 80 million

80 million people died in World War II.
The winners proudly celebrate the anniversary of their victories. And then they bow their heads and place their crowns on the graves of their soldiers.
But unworthy, ashamed that it is for all of us to leave these 80 million war victims forgotten.
We must keep them in our memory and give expression to this commemoration.
We owe it to the memory of the victims, to ourselves, to the 800 million potential victims who live between us but can be instantly swept away by a new whirlwind of the history.
When and how should we pay tribute to these 80 million?
It would be honorable if this day would follow Victory Day, so it could be May 10.

As for the manner of this commemoration: it would be better if it will be organized by citizens, schools, public organizations, without politicians, without soldiers, without prayers.

2020 – the challenges

The new year is good here. Well, let's get to work!
Everyone decides what is most important to him in his life. But let's think together, what is our common task in our common life now and here on this Earth! Let us not doubt that regardless of the number of individualists and the strength of their choir, common life, common tasks, common responsibility exist.
In words it is not widely debated, perhaps on the contrary: too many words, not rarely deafening. It's always with action that there are problems - probably because of the lack of a reasonable program. Because if there was a reasonable course of action, many would get to work, without delay and without waiting for others.
Yes, these are the deafening words that often disturb the mind! It is surely superfluous to remind the millions who chant ardently almost everywhere in the world: "Climate crisis! Let's do against it! "
Okay! Let's do! But what?
Before gathering all our intellectual and action capacities, let's try to think about the biggest challenges that will be on the agenda in 2020!
Here is the list as I see it.
The dangers of war
Environmental poisoning (air, water, soil, food chain)
Pandemic threats,
Growing social inequalities
Danger of darkness
The dangers of AI
The dangers of crime
The risks of climate change
Like all similar lists, this too can give rise to endless debates: why these, why not others, why in this order, etc. Without hampering sensible debates, without being stuck in the order of challenges, our objective and our intention is to define a concrete program of action as soon as possible, counting on all who want to act.
Not "once".
Now!

Climate Emergency

I just signed the #ScientistsWarningToHumanity climate emergency initiative. If you are a scientist you can support this new initiative by sharing this and adding your signature here: http://scientistswarning.forestry.oregonstate.edu/

World Scientists’
Warning of a Climate Emergency
(Condensed Version)
William J. Ripple, Christopher Wolf, Thomas M. Newsome, 5678 scientist signatories from 100 countries
We scientists have a moral obligation to clearly warn humanity of any great existential threat. In this paper, we present a suite of graphical vital signs of climate change over the last 40 years. Results show greenhouse gas emissions are still rising, with increasingly damaging effects. With few exceptions, we are largely failing to address this predicament. The climate crisis has arrived and is accelerating faster than many scientists expected. It is more severe than anticipated, threatening natural ecosystems and the fate of humanity. We suggest six critical and interrelated steps that governments and the rest of humanity can take to lessen the worst effects of climate change, covering 1) Energy, 2) Short-lived pollutants, 3) Nature, 4) Food, 5) Economy, and 6) Population. Mitigating and adapting to climate change entails transformations in the ways we govern, manage, feed, and fulfill material and energy requirements. We are encouraged by a recent global surge of concern. Governmental bodies are making climate emergency declarations. The Pope issued an encyclical on climate change. Schoolchildren are striking. Ecocide lawsuits are proceeding in the courts. Grassroots citizen movements are demanding change. As scientists, we urge widespread use of our vital signs and anticipate that graphical indicators will better allow policymakers and the public to understand the magnitude of this crisis, track progress, and realign priorities to alleviate climate change. The good news is that such transformative change, with social and ecological justice, promises greater human wellbeing in the long-run than business as usual. We believe that prospects will be greatest if policy makers and the rest of humanity promptly respond to our warning and declaration of a climate emergency, and act to sustain life on planet Earth, our only home.
